A Centennial Tribute to Gabriel Figueroa

Friday, November 2 – Thursday, November 8, 2007 at The Loft Cinema

Celebrate the work of Gabriel Figueroa (1907-1997), one of the world’s most important cinematographers whose camera work defined the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. Figueroa was honored for Best Cinematography at Cannes 1946 for Maria Candelaria, won a Golden Globe in 1949 for La Perla, and was nominated for an Oscar® in 1965 for Night of the Iguana.

The tribute includes a retrospective of new 35-mm subtitled prints of 8 of Figueroa’s most important and influential films.
